The Career Development Center (CDC) at California State University, Long Beach will be hosting an information session on the Job Search: Facebook, Twitter, and Blogs on Tuesday, Nov. 1 from 2-3 p.m. at the Career Development Center in Brotman Hall (BH-250). Students will learn how to use Facebook, Twitter, and blogs to market themselves to employeers. CDC facilitators will educate students on how to be professional in how they display themselves on these social media sites. “So many students take part in social media. They need to learn how important it is to protect their identity,” Dr. Robin Lee said, the associate director of the Career Development Center.
Students will learn how employeers use their Facebook, Twitter, and blogs to make employment decisions. “Employeers are really using Facebook,” said Dr. Robin Lee.

Students will be able to ask questions and receive feedback about their Facebook, Twitter, and blogs. “ I guess I should take some stuff off my Facebook. My profile picture is of me having fun and I don’t want employeers to think that I have too much fun. I’ll probably go to the meeting because I want a job when I graduate in the spring,” said Melissa Suarez, a CSULB student.
